The first comic strip, entitled Mumintrollet och jordens undergång (Moomintroll and The End of The World) was a short-lived project for the children's section of the Finland-Swedish leftist newspaper Ny Moomin (Swedish: Mumin or Mumintrollen, Finnish Muumipeikko) is a comic strip created by Tove Jansson, and followed up by Lars Jansson.. The very first comic strip (entitled Mumintrollet och jordens undergång) was a short-lived attempt for the children's section of the Finland-Swedish leftist newspaper Ny Tid, written between 1947-1948, by request on the editor and personal friend, Atos Wirtanen. I picked for fun some Moomin comics from a library a few months back and their tone kind of surprised me; things were a bit different from the cartoon version that I saw in my childhood.
